Cranial Technique

Cranial Technique is for all ages, from infancy to adulthood

Inside the skull bones there are layers of membranes called the meninges that contain the fluid that bathes, nourishes and protects your brain and spinal cord. These meningeal membranes travel down the inside of the spinal column as well. Because they are connected, tension in the head creates tension in the neck, spine and hips below and vice versa.

Most Chiropractors only adjust the spine

At Butler Chiropractic, Dr. Lynn adjusts the spine and skull bones. The Cranial Techniques she uses are all very gentle. She was initially instructed by the Upledger Institute where she received Advanced training in Cranio-Sacral Therapy. After that, she studied a number of Cranial Manipulation techniques and has continued to add many of them to her cranial skills. While she was an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern College of Chiropractic, she taught some of the Cranial techniques to her Chiropractic students.

It’s surprising how many symptoms this technique can affect!

Symptoms that we often help with Cranial Technique include headaches, head pressure, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, motion sickness, jaw or TMJ pain, jaw deviation, upper neck soreness, pain behind the eyes or across the bridge of the nose, ear pain or recurrent ear infections, plugged ears, facial numbness, eyelid twitching, dark circles under the eyes, sinus congestion or drainage. People should be checked who have had head or facial trauma and after dental and orthodontic work.
